Project Synopsis

Motion sickness affects one in three people. Vomiting, nausea, dizziness, or headache are few of the many concerns for ones well-being. Two global megatrends (fully automated driving and virtual reality) make motion sickness a major challenge to healthcare and industry. A novel and innovative solution using smart wearables for preventing motion sickness in a broad population will be investigated. A thermoregulatory wristband with realtime adjustments of perceived body temperature (cooling/heating) within seconds will be employed as a potential countermeasure against motion sickness.

Project Objective

The overall aim of this project is to employ smart wearable technologies to develop solutions that can reliably prevent and minimize motion sickness in a broad population.
