Cathy Craven appointed Medical Director of the Spinal Cord Rehab Program at Toronto Rehab

Being Medical Lead for the program for many years, she is an internationally recognized leader in spinal cord injury research and care.

Dr. Cathy Craven has agreed to serve as the Medical Director for the Spinal Cord Rehab Program after being Medical Lead for the program for many years. In this role she has led some incredible local and national level initiatives like the SCI Evaluation and Quality Consortium. The transition to the Director role aligns well with Dr. Craven’s professional goals which have always included the mentorship of physicians, leaders and students.

A Professor in the Division of Physiatry in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto she is a recognized international leader in research involving prevention of complications of Spinal Cord Injury, such as fractures and cardiovascular disease.  

Equally prolific on the Research side of the house, Cathy has held the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute Chair in Spinal Cord Injury Research since July 2018 and is the leader of the Neural Engineering and Therapeutics (NET) Team.
