Ben Sainsbury, CEO - Marion Surgical

Ben Sainsbury is an entrepreneur and U.S. Army veteran who conceived Marion Surgical during his Ph.D. in Computer Science program and led the company from inception to international success. He oversaw patent registration, prototype development, and built a world-class team - securing a computer science patent for a groundbreaking virtual reality surgical system with haptic feedback. Combining extensive experience in VR software development and startup launches, Ben has raised both equity and debt financing while driving over $10 million in 3D software and services sales. He is passionate about collaborating with senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams to transform medical training, improve patient outcomes, and advance education.

 

Colin Gallacher, Cofounder & President - Haply Robotics

Colin Gallacher is the co-founder and President of Haply Robotics, an innovative company specializing in haptic and robotics technologies. Colin has dedicated his career to advancing the field of human-computer interaction, with a strong background in mechanical engineering and a passion for creating meaningful technological solutions. He played a pivotal role in developing Haply's flagship product, the Inverse3 controller, a cutting-edge force-feedback device that bridges the gap between the physical and digital worlds. Haply Robotics is at the forefront of industries ranging from medical simulation to virtual reality and the Metaverse, earning such accolades as the 2025 CES Innovation Award. Colin is a graduate of McGill University, and outside of work, is known for his dedication to mentoring young engineers and advocating for the broader adoption of haptic technology to improve human experiences across industries.
