Biography

Sin-Tung is a Research Associate in the Home, Community, and institutional Environments research team at the KITE Research Institute. She is a member of the EnABL, led by Dr. Alison Novak, where she leads research on accessibility. The EnABL lab conducts research to improve the safety and accessibility of different aspects of the built environment (e.g., stairs, grab bars in the bathroom, pedestrian infrastructure, etc.). Most recently, the team developed A Canadian Roadmap for Accessibility Standards on behalf of the Canadian Standards Association. This goal of this project and report was to evaluate the current state of accessibility standards in Canada, identify key barriers to accessibility, and identify opportunities for new standards development. Sin-Tung will be presenting information on this project. More information about this project can be found at the following website: https://www.csagroup.org/article/research/a-canadian-roadmap-for-accessibility-standards/.
