Biography

Sachindri Wijekoon PhD, OT Reg. (Ont.) is a registered Occupational Therapist. She completed a PhD in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Western University, and is currently completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto. Sachindri brings an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens to her work, by critically looking at how the social conditions in which people, particularly older people, live are shaped by the distribution and control of power and resources in society. Sachindri’s doctoral work offered insights into the experiences of newcomers and aging through her focus on how late-life migration and displacement creates experiences of aging “out of place”.
