'Transforming Lives Through Startup Tech' will be moderated by Philip De Souza, Assistant Vice President of Communications and Marketing at HIROC.
For the first time in its history, the International Conference on Aging, Innovation & Rehabilitation (ICAIR) will host panel discussions as part of its two-day event. The first, Transforming Lives Through Startup Tech, will explore how healthcare ventures can find long-term success by tapping into the ecosystem available to support them.
Philip De Souza, Assistant Vice President of Communications and Marketing at HIROC, will moderate the panel. He has spent more than 15 years working in communications and marketing at HIROC, developing storytelling, marketing campaigns and internal engagement. He's also co-host of the award-winning Healthcare Change Makers podcast.

Dr. Noah Crampton, clinician investigator at the Toronto Western Family Health Team and Chief Executive Officer of Mutuo Health Solutions
Dr. Crampton, MD CCFP MSc, is a clinician investigator at the Toronto Western Family Health Team. He has combined his expertise in primary care research and health informatics to spin out his research into one of Canada's leading AI scribe vendors, Mutuo Health Solutions. It uses AI technology to generate clinical documentation such as transcripts and physician notes, fill in forms and complete administrative tasks.
Dr. Annie-Kim Gilbert, Chief Executive Officer, MEDTEQ+
Dr. Gilbert, a seasoned executive with over two decades of leadership experience across public, academic, and private sectors, is the driving force behind MEDTEQ+. With a deep understanding of drug development from her time at AstraZeneca and extensive knowledge of the Quebec healthcare system as the Director of academic affairs at a research-based hospital network in Montreal, Dr. Gilbert is dedicated to supporting innovators shaping the future of healthcare. Currently the CEO of MEDTEQ+, her team strive to deliver a comprehensive suite of programs designed to help de-risking product development and commercialization.
Dr. Gilbert holds a PhD in psychology and neuroscience from McGill University and a post-doctoral training from the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a teaching research hospital affiliated with Cornell University based in New York City.
Zen Koh, CEO of NovaKonexus
Dr. Zen Koh has been a driving force in the healthcare and rehabilitation technology industry for more than 20 years. As CEO of NovaKonexus, he is dedicated to advancing neurorehabilitation technologies and fostering collaboration between industry leaders, researchers, and healthcare providers. Koh is also the President and Ambassador of IISART (International Industry Society for Advanced Rehabilitation Technology), a platform dedicated to global collaboration and the advancement of rehabilitation technology.
As the Founder and Executive Director of MotusAcademy, Koh is committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders in rehabilitation technology. His advisory roles with leading AI-driven robotics and rehabilitation companies further highlight his expertise and dedication to improving patient care.
Louise Pichette, Lead, Health Sciences, MaRS
Pichette engages local and international communities to help the most promising Canadian Health Sciences startups achieve their greatest potential. Utilizing sector knowledge, the MaRS Health Sciences team builds investor forums, information, and capital relationships that bring value to ventures. Louise supports 300+ startups in the MaRS Health Sciences portfolio and broader health ecosystem.
Previously, Pichette led the delivery of crowdsourced Innovation Challenges for MaRS, including the MIT Inclusive Innovation Challenge, the MaRS and CIBC Inclusive Design Challenge and the Spinal Cord Rehab Innovation Challenge. She holds an Honours BSc in Life Sciences and a Master’s degree in Innovation Management, where she was valedictorian of her graduating class at U of T.
