Dr. McGilton is a Senior Scientist at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute-UHN. She is an Associate Professor in the Lawrence S Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing. Kathy's focus of research is promoting older adults' abilities to be as independent as possible. This includes developing and testing interdisciplinary models of care focused on enhancing function and quality of life of older adults with complex conditions including those living with dementia. She is also involved in studies focused on staff who deliver the care, as they are key to narrowing the gap between evidence and practice and improving care quality.
