Lothar Lilge

Mr. Lilge obtained his MSc from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe Uni.in Frankfurt, germany under the supervision of Prof. F. Hillenkamp in 1987 and his Ph.D. with the same Supervisor  form the Westfaehlische Wilhelms Uni.; Muenster, Germany in 1992 so his studies included 3 year at the Massachussetts General Hosptial in Boston USA. 

In 1992 he came first to McMaster University Hamilton and then to the  Ontario Cancer Institute for his post doctoral training. From 1995 to 2002 he was employed by Photonics Research Ontario a Centre of Excellence of the Province of Ontario serving on various positions ranging from Staff Scientist to Director of Operations for the Biophotonics user Facility. He holds an Professor appointment at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and is currently a Senior Scientist at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre at University Health Network. His expertise includes Photodynamic Therapy, ranging from photosensitizer evaluation to treatment planning and support of clinical trials. Optical diagnostics for detection of disease or quantification of prevalence for disease particular for Breast Cancer
