Bio

Dr. Robert Chen received MA and medical degrees (MBBChir) from the University of Cambridge and M.Sc. from the University of Toronto. &nbsp; He undertook Internal Medicine residency at Queen&rsquo;s University, Neurology residency at the University of Western Ontario, and fellowship at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke at the National Institutes of Health, USA.&nbsp;He is currently Professor of Medicine (Neurology) at the University of Toronto, the Catherine Manson Chair in Movement Disorders, Senior Scientist at the Krembil Brain Institute, the Director of the Eliot Phillipson Clinician Scientist Training Program of the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences. &nbsp;&nbsp;His research interests are human motor physiology, brain plasticity and understanding the pathophysiology and development of new treatments for movement disorders such as Parkinson&rsquo;s disease and dystonia. &nbsp; He has authored over 340 peer-reviewed research papers and two books with H-index of 96 (Google Scholar). &nbsp;He has given over 200 invited lectures and directly supervised over 60 graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. He holds research funding from Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (USA), the Canada Foundation for Innovation, the EU Joint Programme &ndash; Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND) and the National Organization for Rare Disorders.
