Pia Kontos

Dr. Kontos is a Senior Scientist and an Associate Professor in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Pia’s research focuses on improving quality of care in long-term care and rehabilitation settings. She produces educational research-based dramas and films for care providers about how to improve care relationships and health outcomes for people living with dementia, brain injury, and other complex impairments. She also draws on the arts (music, dance, improvisational play) to engage people living with dementia, reduce their social isolation, and enhance their quality of life.
