Biography

Ann was awarded her PhD in 2019 from the Discipline of Physiotherapy in Trinity College Dublin. Her PhD project examined physical activity and cardio-respiratory fitness in a cohort of individuals living with Hepatitis C. Following on from this, she commenced post-doctoral research, broadly in the area of frailty and metabolic disease. In 2019, Ann was also awarded a 2019 James M Flaherty Scholarship, awarded for her project which aims to adapt the HIV disability questionnaire for a  broader chronic-disease population (beginning with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease).

Ann has a keen interest in rehabilitation, within the context of physical activity and cardiorespiratory fitness, in a broad spectrum of chronic diseases. Most recently in 2020, she has transitioned from her role in Physiotherapy to Medical Gerontology, wherein her expertise and interest in frailty has also been expanded.
